News......Kata practice in April
wasn't bad, Bob, Luke, Barry, Matsuura sensei, and myself were all there.
If your name isn't mentioned....shame on you. Make it a point to be here
next month. That would be May 11th.
Cleveland....... Matsuura sensei is putting together a team for Cleveland, get in touch if you want to participate. NOTICE - I'm still leaving up this announcement that dues went up $5.00 per month. Please check in with me to see where you stand, as far as if you are up to date.

Test Results......As most of you have heard, Matsuura and myself did not get promoted at last months shinsa in Chicago. We are not discouraged, but will mull over all the things in our mind we know we need to improve on, and will seek feedback from the sensei who were on the board. 14 people tried for 5th dan and only 2 made it. Congratulations to Mr. Hori from the BTC, and Dr. Parker from North Carolina. Also congratulations to Sakamoto, and Ishihara our friends from Chicago for passing 6th dan exam.

Upcoming Events...... |
"OUR" Kata Seminar.....The 2nd Saturday for May is the 11th. Be there. Cleveland Tournament-May 4th Entry forms are available at the dojo. Matsuura sensei is going to this tournament, you can make travel arrangements with him. Iaido Seminar-May 4th Phil Ortiz and Deborah Klens-Bigman from the New York Budokai are visiting my friend Charles Ham at EMU so I will be leading a contingent of Iaido enthusiasts to travel to that event. Summer Camp-June 21-23rd Kalamazoo College This is the official date, it will be before the July 4th US Championships, but long after the MWKF team selection process. There may be a "REAL BIG" surprise later announced about this camp this year. Click here to download registration forms. AUSKF National Championships- July 5-7 In Las Vegas, this is what you could call the "top" tournament in the USA. It is only once every 3 years. AUSKF National Iaido summer camp- July ? Rumor has it, it will be held in Colorado Springs, CO. sometime in late July. I may be traveling to this event also.
